(Click to enlarge)Charis Bible School-Plymouth, the newest Charis Bible College (CBC) extension school, recently hosted a successful Opening Rally at their new facility in Plymouth, Massachusetts. Directors, George and Judi Appleton, both originally from Weymouth, MA, have been serving the Lord in various capacities and in various locations since 1979. The opening of the school in Plymouth is an answer to their own long-standing prayer.

“I used to pray for God to send laborers to Massachusetts to share the good news of the Father’s unconditional love and grace. I just love how He has orchestrated this plan to bring Charis Bible School to Plymouth, and that He knew all along that we would be part of His plan,” Judi said.

While the Appletons are originally from New England, their family has also lived in Texas and Colorado. For seven years the couple owned and operated Fairplay Graphics in Edgewater, Colorado, a suburb of Denver. “We were honored to print some of Andrew’s early materials. We feel fortunate that God linked us with Andrew within a month of our salvation, and that this was the first message we ever heard. Our lives were changed,” George said.

Andrew’s material had so impacted them that they would pack up their girls and drive to every one of Andrew’s meetings within a one-hundred-mile radius of their home. Students gather at the hub for pre-registration for classes.

“We attended Andrew’s meetings way back in the early days when everyone slept in tents at the summer camp meeting,” George said. “I can still remember when Andrew gave me a tour of the original facility in Manitou Springs. The ministry has come a long way since then!”

Regardless of their location, serving the Lord and proclaiming the Gospel have always been a primary focus for the Appletons, and Andrew’s ministry served to further fuel their heart of service. As the two have crisscrossed the nation, they have co-labored in several church plants and were heavily involved in youth ministry in both Colorado and Massachusetts. George has also helped develop worship teams, and Judi has led a women’s ministry group.

Missionaries, Jay and Charity Randolph, of Favor Communications International will serve as part of the teaching staff at CBS.

At the Gospel Truth Seminar (GTS) in Boston in 2006, Andrew spoke with the Appletons about attending Charis Bible College in Colorado. Both were interested and decided to make plans to move to the Springs—but procrastination got the best of their good intentions. Each year, for the following two years, Andrew would ask them when they were coming. Finally, at the annual GTS the third year, the Appletons declared, “We’ll be there this Fall!” At the time, George was working as a Massachusetts Real Estate Broker, and had numerous properties he was hoping on to sell. “As we took a step of faith to go to Colorado, the Lord sold each property. Our Father provided. Kevin and Amy Bree will be teaching at CBS and launching a new church in Plymouth. (Click to enlarge)That has been the case every step of the way on this journey. He’s been faithful to provide for all of our needs,” George explained.

The Appletons remember completing their first year correspondence curriculum while driving back across the country from Massachusetts to Colorado. “We used our daughter’s portable DVD player, and listened to the classes while we drove. Then we took the tests at the hotel when we stopped for the night. We were ready to register for second year by the time we arrived in Colorado Springs,” recalled Judi.

George and Judi graduated in 2009, and finished their apprenticeship in 2010. Following the Summer Family Bible Conference in July, they packed a moving truck and headed back East to launch CBS-Plymouth. The morning opened with a time of worship. The Opening Rally was filled with the smiling faces of both old friends and new students, excited to begin classes. George and Judi took time during the rally to introduce four other CBS team members; Jay and Charity Randolph of Favor Communications International, and Kevin and Amy Bree, who will be launching a new church in Plymouth this Fall called New Horizons.

The Opening Rally ended with a time of fellowship merging old friends and new.

“This is so exciting, and so much fun,” Judi said. “George and I anticipate great things here in New England as we proclaim the love and grace of God. I believe the Father's hand directed the Mayflower to Plymouth, and I believe he wanted to use the Pilgrims quest for religious freedom to establish a nation with a firm foundation on the Word of God. It’s time to re-establish that foundation. We’re taking this ground back for the Kingdom.” Amen.
