A Narrow Road

“It was about 20 years ago now, my principal had a meeting with me, and he said that I was going to lose all of my dreams and that I needed to give the baby up for abortion.”

Choices Pregnancy Center has been a safe haven for young women in Teller County, Colorado by pointing them down the road less traveled. Through offering free services such as pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, and parenting training, Choices has encouraged countless mothers to make the right decision. Such was the case in 1996, when sixteen-year-old Rebecca stepped through their doors.

Kathryn Perry, Executive Director“I had suspected that I was pregnant,” recalls Rebecca. “I went to my friend’s house and took a home pregnancy test. Sure enough, the test came out positive. I then decided to go to the Choices Pregnancy Center. I started talking to one of the counselors, Julie, and told her that there’s no way I could be a mom and that I didn’t know what I was doing. Julie really provided a safe place for me to just fall apart but also to be comforted as well.”

Certain that Alan was going to break up with her, Rebecca picked up the phone to tell him the news. Shocked by how calm he was, Rebecca was assured that their relationship was not over, and they agreed to tell their parents together. By following God’s prompting and with their parents’ support, Rebecca and Alan decided to get married. However, not everyone agreed with their decision.

Exam table where a baby's life is discovered“My principal had a meeting with me and told me that I should have an abortion,” remarks Rebecca. “I told him I was going to keep the baby and that I was also going to be getting married. He said that if I missed any days of school, he would expel me. But it was in those moments that I heard God’s voice even stronger saying, ‘This is not what you want.’”

Alan and Rebecca got married on December 23 and moved into a tiny, studio apartment together. “Neither of us knew what to expect with a baby,” recalls Allan, “And our expectations could not have prepared us for how difficult it was. At the same time, the majority of the feelings that I had at those times were just wonderment. We were able to dream of maybe what the future might hold.”

Rebecca, Alan, and baby JaylenThe future held more for them than they realized. Alan’s finish carpentry business took off when he was only nineteen years old. Today he is known as one of the best in Colorado Springs. As for Rebecca, she’s a full-time mom to Jaylen and her three siblings.

When you support Andrew Wommack Ministries (AWM), you are also supporting over forty other ministries and organizations, including Choices Pregnancy Center. You are a part of bringing hope and life to people just like Alan and Rebecca, who took the narrow road and courageously stood for what was right in the midst of opposition. But you don’t have to be in a crisis to take a stand.

AWM has provided just one of the ways where you can stand for what is right—the Declaration of Dependence upon God and His Holy Bible. By signing it, you are stating your beliefs in the Christian faith and standing for what the Bible says over what man says.

Now is the time to stand together, not in hate, but in love and conviction for God and His holy Word. Will you join us?

I also have related testimony. I am a mom of two boys my first baby is 3 years and 7 months old and the second baby is now 1 year and one month old. I am following Andrew Womack ministries on my face book page and I like reading every thing you post on the wall every day. one day I saw a post that says " YOU ARE HERE BECAUSE YOUR MOTHER DIDN'T ABORT YOU............" and i was so scared because at that very time I was curius why my period didn't appeared on time. So on that same day I went home and did pregnancy test and saw it was positive. I was shocked and cried for a long period of time. Because there was no way we can have another baby at this time. We are living in a rented house and my salary only covers the house renting cost, in addition I am doing my thesis for MPH, we are paying a quarter of my husbands salary for the credit we took to buy our car .... there are so many other reasons too. I also have signed the abortion declaration and do not want to decide to abort the baby. So it was so hard to convince my husband not to do the abortion but I believed in God and decided not to do it. currently I am 17 weeks pregnant and expecting my third baby. I believe God is my provider and fulfills every need of my family.

God bless this beautiful family. What an uplifting testimony. Dearest Jaylen has a very bright future ahead. God has miraculous plans for this lovely young lady. I am so deeply grateful for the choice made by these wonderful people. What an awesome blessing that they are still together with more children! I believe God chose Rebecca and Alan especially for each other. I am delighted to be co-heirs with this beautiful family in Jesus Christ. MAY THEIR FUTURE BE FOREVER BLESSED AND BRIGHT!
