Meet the New Directors of CBC-India

(Click to enlarge)When the Lord called Charis Bible College graduates, Lance and Gerri Weldgen, to the mission field, the couple responded in faith and immediately made arrangements to relocate to India—more than 8,500 miles from their home in Colorado Springs. While ministering in India had been in the back of Lance's mind for nearly a decade, he had waited patiently for the Lord to reveal to Gerri that the region was to be her mission field as well. For many years, Gerri had not shared Lance's enthusiasm to reach the nation of India, but in January 2011, the Lord supernaturally changed Gerri's mind and filled her heart with His love for the Indian people.

In October of 2011, without knowing exactly what God's long term plan was, the Weldgens moved ahead with what the Lord had shown them, and they trusted that He would reveal more of His mighty plan as they moved forward. "We went to India and ministered the unconditional love and grace of Jesus Christ anywhere we could," said Lance.

Since their arrival, the couple has visited a number of cities and villages throughout the nation, particularly in the State of Andhra Pradesh, where they have made the most of every opportunity to teach the Word and minister healing. With the help of their ministry partners the Weldgens have also been able to aid relief efforts in poor communities by providing basic needs, Lance and Gerri stand with residents in a remote village where the Weldgen's ministry, Son Ministries International, and their partners, recently provided a new well for drinking water.

including the digging of fresh water wells. More recently the Weldgens had come alongside the Forgoston family at CBC-India in Chennai. While all their endeavors produced Kingdom fruit, Chennai has provided a newfound stability for the Weldgens—they have recently become the new directors of AWM/CBC-India.

Lance said, "We have been at the Bible college for the past few months and the more time we spent there, the more clearly we saw God’s plan unfolding, and God continues to fine-tune the plan He has for us. I am blessed and honored to now be directing Andrew Wommack Ministries and Charis Bible College of India!"

(Click to enlarge)Lance likens the Weldgen's journey to that of Abraham's oldest servant in Genesis 24; the servant stepped out in faith to find Isaac a wife and the Lord led him to the perfect woman. "God was just that faithful with Gerri and me! We stepped out and the Holy Spirit led! We were led to minister in far reaching villages and hamlets where they have not known grace. Once we developed relationships with people who needed the unconditional grace and love message, God led us to CBC to train up servants to go out and do the same," said Lance excitedly.

Lance, Gerri, staff and students pray a blessing over CBC-India's former director, David Forgoston. The Forgostons have moved on to launch CBC-Switzerland. (Click to enlarge)When asked to share their thoughts on the transition of leadership at CBC-India the Forgostons had this to say, "We have known the Weldgens for a few years now and have seen that they have a real desire and calling to minister to the people in India. We're very happy that such dedicated people took up the challenge to move to the other side of the world to help take CBC-India to the next level!"

The Weldgens recognize the staff and students' commitment to spreading the Gospel of Grace to all of India, and they are excited with anticipation of what the Lord is going to do with and through the school in the coming years. Lance and Gerri are thankful to have been accepted so quickly by a wonderful staff and that they have embraced the Weldgen's vision for the school. "Our vision is to see many CBC schools open CBC-India, staff and students.

during the next years, and already we are close in two other major cities in India," said Lance.

In the meantime, CBC-India graduated 20 students in April of 2012, and each of these graduates plans to spread the almost-too-good-to-be-true-news of the Gospel throughout the nation. Their determination to share what they have learned highlights the power of God's Word and exemplifies Andrew's heart for ministry duplication through CBC. Andrew has declared that he will spend the rest of his life advancing the Kingdom based on the model found in 2 Timothy 2:2,

"And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also."

Lance Weldgen: Healed and On A Mission

(Click to enlarge)In November of 2010, we posted a story about Lance Weldgen's Healing Journey; a wonderful story of Lance's victory over fibromyalgia and his faith building journey into ministry. In today's article we are happy to share an update about what Lance and his wife, Gerri, are doing with their lives as a result of their time at Charis Bible College. For Lance, the healing wasn't the end of the story—it was just the beginning.

Lance and Gerri each graduated from CBC-Colorado; Lance in 2009 and Gerri in 2011. "Both of us agree that being saturated with the Word at CBC was the very best time of preparation in our walk with Jesus. We were transformed at CBC. The Word was planted Lance and Gerri being water baptized in 2008. (Click to enlarge)deep, and the seed is already bearing fruit," said Lance.

Andrew's teachings, Spirit, Soul and Body, The Believer's Authority, The Positive Ministry of the Holy Spirit and Don't Limit God, each had a profound effect on the Weldgen's understanding of God's Word. The revelation they received from Andrew and CBC shaped Lance and Gerri's ministry, bringing them from a works mentality to a place where they are able to receive God’s grace and direction and respond in faith with a love for others that never ends.

Lance graduated from CBC-Colorado in 2009. Gerri graduated in 2011.

Both Lance and Gerri put their revelation to work. Even before graduation, Lance went to work at the Springs Rescue Mission in downtown Colorado Springs, where he ministered to the men in their New Life Program. During his time at SRM he witnessed both physical and spiritual healing and transformation in many lives. Gerri too, had the opportunity to minister in her profession as a certified Muscular Therapist at a local senior center. She had spent years working as a therapist, but after her time at CBC and her baptism in the Holy Spirit, manifestations of complete healing became commonplace. One of Gerri's clients had suffered with numbness in her leg for 14 years, Map of India highlighting the region in which the Weldgens will be ministering. (Click to enlarge)and one day while Gerri ministered to her, she received complete healing. "We expect results. We expect healing," Gerri said joyfully.

Although the Weldgens were seeing fruit in their individual workplaces the Lord began to shift their attention to the mission field in India. This was a drastic change for the couple—at least for Gerri. For some time, Lance had experienced a growing desire to minister in India, but Gerri had not shared the sentiment. Gerri was supportive of Lance's desire and very aware of it as he would bring it up from time to time in conversation. Instead of physically heading onto the mission field, the couple chose to sponsor two needy Indian children through the World Vision ministry.

On their third day in India the Weldgen's were invited into Victor's home where they had the opportunity to share their testimony and teach on healing.

In 2003, Lance had the opportunity to go to India to meet the children the couple sponsored. That experience further solidified Lance's dream to pursue missions in India. "When I came home to Colorado, I knew that one day I would return to India," Lance said.

Lance eventually realized that if the Lord wanted the Weldgens to go to India, He would also put the desire in Gerri's heart and he held his peace about his dream. Then, in January 2011, the Lord supernaturally changed Gerri's mind. She was asleep on a bus bound for Arizona to serve as part of Andrew's prayer ministry team at a Gospel Truth Seminar in Phoenix. Gerri woke upLance teaching a small Agape Fellowship Church in Hyderabad.

at dawn and as she stared out the window she had a vision. "Lance and I were ministering—in India! More important than that vision was that I had a total heart change. My heart was suddenly filled with the love of God for his people in India,” shared Gerri excitedly.

Lance was elated, and the call was so strong that the Weldgens began preparing for their transition immediately. As they took each step in faith, the Lord continued to direct them. He showed them that they were to go to Hyderabad and reconnect with a pastor Solomon Raju, whom Lance had met back in 2003, and that they were to go to Chennai The Weldgens ministered to Sujartha and she was healed.

and serve at CBC-India.

The Weldgens made their final preparations this fall and left for India in late October 2011. The couple plans to see hearts and bodies made well, and to disciple many in the Word! They will also minister to the region's poor through the provision of basic needs, such as the drilling of fresh water wells in small villages. "God’s plan is very big here," said Lance.

Faithful Discipleship: A Look at Forgoston International Ministries

Three Charis Bible College (CBC) graduates founded Forgoston International Ministries, located in Chennai, India. Russ Forgoston, his son David, and David's wife Judith began ministering to the people of India two and half years ago. Since then, the missionary trio has implemented three main programs in Chennai, which have been quite fruitful and have seen exponential growth.

One program that the Forgoston's launched is called Grace Discipleship Training. Their program is based on the 48 lesson curriculum Andrew co-authored with Don Krow, called Discipleship Evangelism. Upon witnessing a noticeable lack of biblical foundation in local church leadership, the Forgoston's felt led to start the program in order to reach out to area pastors to give them a better understanding of the Word. The program has helped many leaders come to know God more intimately and as a result, the Forgoston's are receiving reports that some Indian churches are growing and thriving like never before. At the end of 2009, 350 pastors and church leaders had completed the training program.

The Forgoston's discipleship training program has touched the lives of many in Chennai. (Click to enlarge)In order to accommodate growing interest in the Grace Discipleship Training program, David explained that they have decided to video the teachings and dub-in various language translations. This will allow more pastors access to the materials and lessons, enabling them to view them as often as they choose. Although the Forgoston's have only just begun this process, many have expressed interest in these products.

Another program the Forgoston's set into motion is called the Jeevan Bank project, which is a micro-loan program, and so much more. Russ explained that they wanted to offer something that would help the poor. Through the Jeevan Bank, those with an entrepreneurial heart can obtain small loans to start their own businesses. This loan program goes beyond traditional banking practices in that the loan recipients are taught how to manage their money, how to promote their businesses and how to make wise decisions as their businesses grow. The program has been largely successful. A total of 162 micro-loans were given to India's poor in 2009. The Forgoston's have seen many lives transformed through the opportunities this program has offered to the people of India.

"I am continually amazed when I think about the favor that God is pouring out on our mission. We are walking through doors that I never imagined would be opened for us. Things are being set up and plans are going into motion that are absolutely extraordinary," David said.

In 2009 the trio also opened the doors of Charis Bible College, India. The Forgoston's enrolled 60 first year students during their inaugural school year. They currently offer full and part-time programs and correspondence courses are also available. David, Judith and Russ each teach at the school, and use DVD curriculum as well. Students also experience live praise and worship three times a week. The Forgoston's goal is to share the Gospel truth with the people of India through the courses at CBC.

Judith enjoys building relationships with people of Chennai. (Click to enlarge)Reflecting on the opening of the school Judith commented, "Teaching at CBC India and building relationships with the students here has truly been one of the best experiences of my life."

Years ago the Lord placed 2 Timothy 2:2 on Andrew's heart, which became his vision for CBC. In that verse, which is a picture of discipleship, Paul explains to Timothy that he should take what he had learned from Paul and commit the same lessons to faithful men around him who would be able to teach others as well. Like Andrew, the Forgoston's are doing just that; continuing the line of discipleship by being faithful to share with others what they have learned.

"Being a missionary in India for the past couple of years has really stretched me," said Russ. "I believe that my relationship with God has become deeper and stronger and the reason for that is directly linked to me following His call and letting Him fulfill the plan that He has for my life."

Interestingly, the husband and wife video production team of Jeff and Autumn Nakkula are also CBC graduates and missionaries. Jeff and Autumn founded Catalyst Ministries International, a helps ministry organization that comes along side others already doing the work of the ministry. They utilize their media and TV production skills to help document and promote ministries such as the Forgoston's as they minister the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Jeff and Autumn are also missionaries in India at this time.
